Biography    
Professor Dent, once a highly respected British geologist, moved to Jamaica to further his research. There he got a job as a lecturer at Kingston University, he later became head of geology. While investigating the island of Crab Key he was captured by its owner and released a few weeks later. It was later revealed he had struck a deal with the mysterious Dr No. He became a personal spy for Dr No and was the first to inform him of Strangways' findings. He was later shot dead by 007, after Dent had made several attempts on 007's life.
