Biography    
Barbara Mawdsley was offered the job of "M" when Admiral Hargreves took his retirement. A long term worker at the special branch she had been working on accounts when the job was offered to her. She made a few changes in modernising the attitude of the special branch, and she expects the most from her staff. Originally a figure of ridicule her no nonsense work approach earned her respect from her peers. She is now one of the most respected people in England.
