| Biography | ||||
| One of the richest men in England, Auric Goldfinger, owned the biggest chain of gold pawn shops in the world, Auric Enterprises. His obsession with gold was that, unlike currency, gold invariably kept its value. To avoid paying tax and to smuggle stolen gold for SMERSH, he devised making his car from the substance therefore undetectable through customs. Gold, whilst being what drove him, is responsible for destroying him. His greed lead him to obtain gold by any means possible. This lead him to SMERSH and he became their new banker/fund raiser. Eventually he, and several crime syndicates, launched a daring attack on Fort Knox which was eventually foiled by 007. He escaped but eventually 007 caught up to him and shot him on board Goldfinger's private jet. | ||||
